Hiya! I was given these by my mom, (I think from my grandmother), and although I want to honor them and their gift, these just aren't my style. Would anyone be able to identify these, and how much each would be worth? I don't want to sell 'em for $5 if they're nice things I ought to keep. Thanks!

One is a decanter/canister/jar thing w/a rubber stopper and a diamond pattern w/a USA, something else illegible on it, and a 12 stamped into the bottom, if I see it correctly. The covered sugar bowl(?) doesn't seem to have anything on it at all. Hmm...

Thanks for the help,
Renae

Hmm, I'm not sure...

Would it actually have a seam?

The tall one with the rubber gasket isn't very old at all; 1950s, maybe? Or later. The one on the right looks like 1930s pattern glass, in which case it has a little value. Not loads, though. I'd keep 'em as heirlooms, even if out of sight.

Wow, thanks!

You know, I think I will. I'd love the $$, but I think I'd kick myself more when either of them were actually sold. Ya know? Many thanks for the information, ^_^ you sound really informed!! :D:D

Curtsies and Cheers,
Renae

Re: Wow, thanks!

The lidded jar is new.... candy often came in them. I can't make out the other item.... I need my old lady glasses on.

Just for giggles you could look on the bottom and see if there are any marks, that would help further your search.

Re: Wow, thanks!

*nods* As the message mentioned, I couldn't find any distinguishing marks on the sugar bowl. The bottom has a clear round space right at the center, but nothing's actually there. Hmm.. Thanks for the help, anyway. :)

Re: Wow, thanks!

the jar would go for about $29 at auction, and maybe a little more on ebay... that decorative glass is apparently something people are starting to collect. If I were you, I would keep it a while. Look up glass things on ebay.
